Polish, resolution options, and a week of performance improvements
Greetings Operators,
This is a polish-heavy release that touches a bunch of things at once, mostly on performance and quality of life!
Tutorial, Endless and teasing of upcoming Campaign. When clicking play you can now decide what you want to do. A complete overhaul of the tutorial is planned for this weekend, as well as the first 6 missions of the campaign.
You can now lower the 3D resolution. The options menu offers 1080p, 720p, and 480p render scales alongside the default Native. If you've been struggling with frame rates on older hardware, dropping the resolution is the quickest win you can get.
Performance. In late game scenario, performance has been improved by 50%. On my Macbook M1, with 30000 zombies per minute, I have a steady 80 fps (up from 40).
We have a Steam page! Please consider wishlishting the game. The website will be used to host a playable demo, but a lot of content, such as different playable character (with specific bonuses), 50 unlockable upgrades, 10+ Maps, 5 different zombies, a campaign and 30 more buildings are planned for the release!
Other stuff:
- Inserters and turrets no longer flash visual glitches when first placed
- Belt chevrons stay steady while you move around the factory
- Placement smoke is back and tighter around new structures
- Late-game rendering is smoother when zoomed in or running large bases
- Large zombie hordes move more efficiently under heavy pressure
- Inserters now cast and receive shadows when zoomed in
- Ore deposits in explored fog areas appear dimmer for better fog of war readability
- Main menu camera smoothly transitions when opening scenario select
- Steam wishlist links added to main menu and pause menu
- Cursor labels for copy, paste, and demolish now follow your mouse as crisp overlays
Full patch notes are on zombiesperminute.com.
We don't know what happened to Earth, but we will find out! CLAIRE (Enzed;)
